Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea) is native on the grassy plains to the mid-US and native to Europe since the Eighteenth Century. The plant contains Polysaccharides (arabinogalactans), Caffeic Acid derivatives (chicory acid), essential oils, alkamides and polyols. The main active ingredient is echinacoside glycoside, which is a kind of natural antibiotic.
